The community is tailored to meet the needs of its members and continually addresses the challenges and opportunities of operating in the construction environment with Drone technology.
As a specialist group within COMIT Projects, the drone community operates its own events, projects and membership program. There are two categories of membership specifically designed to maximise the opportunities for participating parties. For more information please contact us via the web form at the bottom of the page.
Sharing Experience and Knowledge. Our events are insightful sessions packed with real-world experiences and issues relevant to operating drones in a construction environment. They also offer the chance to network with your peers and to embrace a collaborative approach to the benefit of all.
Designed by construction for construction. Working closely with our client members, the purpose of our standards program is to continually develop safe working practices that not only fulfil all regulatory requirements, but which take into account the specific environment our members operate in. The aim is to provide much needed guidance and reassurance to early adopters and to advance the safe and legal use of drones in construction.
Advanced Collaboration. We have established a Drone Members Portal which is hosted in the UK on one of the most secure online platforms. It allows for collaboration directly between core members and to access core shared material - such as presentations, standards and ongoing project details. It also gives core members access to specialists and associate members services to enhance any organisation's drone capabilities.
Proving Technology in a Construction Environment. From it's inception the COMIT community has encourages its' members to present their own challenges to the group - to take advantage of our personal network of specialists and to try things out. Since 2003 COMIT has been delivering tangible business benefits from technology and innovations that we have tested on "live" construction sites. This project oriented approach is also embraced by the drone community. We are good at it and it delivers results.
